TJ’s DJ’s aligned with Julia Beverly to form the first annual Ozone Awards show. The Ozone magazine is a forerunner in exposing southern hip-hop music to it’s fans. “With the way the South has been progressing it’s about time we got our shine on, our respect, it’s finally happening and I love it!” said a flabbergasted TJ.
The award show took place at the Bob Carr Auditorium in Orlando, Florida on Sunday August 6th. David Banner and Trina hosted the award show. Before the event took place the red carpet area was flocked with artists stopping to meet and greet with the plethora of fans outside.
Most of the south’s most popular artists were in attendance such as Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Rick Ross, Smitty, Young Dro, UGK, Paul Wall, Dj Drama etc. Up and coming rap stars from the south were also in attendance including 4-IZE, Show Kidd, Young Cash, Jibbs, Willie The Kid, Rasheeda etc.
Performances as well as awards were given out throughout the night. There was not a drought of big named stars performing. Acclaimed Rapper Rick Ross was one of the first opening performances for the debut award show, who’s heavily anticipated album hits stores august 8th.
Fans were on their feet the whole time during the live performances. It seemed as if there was not a second to blink as the star struck fans were in awe of the atmosphere around them. David Banner kept the fans entertained with his suave personality as Trina wowed the fans with her beauty. “I want to show the world that young black males from the south can articulate themselves” said an inspired Banner when asked about hosting the Ozone Awards.
The award show was not only a wonderful way to help promote the Ozone magazine, but it was also a magnificent way for artists to promote their new albums. “The biggest album of the year hits stores August 8th titled Port Of Miami, it’s a must have classic.” exclaimed Ross.
Just as the fans thought the miraculous award show was over, out came Lil Wayne for a show stopping performance to cap off the night. Fans left the arena with an overall sense of satisfaction to see all of the south’s talent come together for a memorable night.
