He bought me drinks all evening in response to just a wink. Then accepted my invitation to repair my kitchen sink. Then I brought him into beddy-bye to get a little sex and couldn't help but smile when he called it conquest! A woman wants a man that she has dreamed about. Someone that isn't real. I don't think that there is anything wrong with a dream only when you turn down reality. Sandy
We decided to Interview women to find out if they would tell us what they really think about men. We Interviewed over 200 hundred women. The women were asked what men most needed to know about todays women. The overwhelming answer was that women want to be respected in their own right. The greatest obstacle to having women speak openly was their concern that men would stereotype them if they knew how women really felt. Women seem to feel they still have an uphill battle in that regard. They expressed concerns that if they did not put a good face on men would not treat them with the respect they deserve.
Lori 45 Years old
Palm Beach Times: What is it that men should know about women?
Lori: That we are humans also
Palm Beach Times: Do men treat women inhumanely?
Lori: Some
Palm Beach Times: How?
Lori: By disregarding them, not treating them as fully human, not all, but many do. For example not attempting to understand
Palm Beach Times: I dont understand
Lori: Not understanding? Oh, In certain behavior, such as being discourteous and wondering why that is not acceptable
Palm Beach Times: Can you articulate just how men are discourteous?
Lori: By the ignoring of the obvious when there is a topic discussed. To take my opinions seriously or to take into account that I might have a life outside of their experiences with me
Palm Beach Times: Is there an example you can give?
Lori: Example, OK on a date, talking at a party discussing the economy and his ideas are explained. Other men have their views heard but when I begin to talk then there is nearly no interest. If I was someone who did not show any successes in life then I could understand that my views would be of no interest, but I have been very successful
Palm Beach Times: What do you do?
Lori: I am a computer consultant, also an investor.
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell?
Lori: Biggest lie? Many, that they will call you, that they love you, that they think you are unique
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell?
Lori: Biggest we tell? Maybe that the man with me is a wonderful lover or some such
Palm Beach Times: Are most men good lovers?
Lori: No, most assume that doing what comes natural is all that they need to be a good lover. They have no real knowledge of anatomy. None of how women feel and little of timing
Palm Beach Times: Have you ever tried to tell them or do you just hope they can figure it out, are men easier to figure out?
Lori: Yes. Men are very easy to know that way. A little thought and some observation and you know a man's needs
Palm Beach Times: A woman's are harder.....?
Lori: Yes. I suppose so. I judge that by how easy it is to figure out how best to be with a man and how unusual it is for him to figure out what is best for me
Palm Beach Times: Is there any advice you could give men?
Lori: To listen to a woman. To draw her out on her thoughts
Palm Beach Times: Are women reticent to express their needs?
Lori: I do not know that to be true. If a man does not ask then he does not get the woman's needs. She might say a lot that is not really what she wants. You have to ask and to observe carefully. Then think about the words. How they were said, any body language
Palm Beach Times: Who is smarter men or women?
Lori: We have different mental skills. Mine are good for seeing patterns. And for seeing reactions. Men tend to think more directly, less nuance I think
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Lori: Your welcome
Kelly 31 Years old
Palm Beach Times: What is it that men should know about women
Kelly: A lot oft women, me included, can be very self centered and devious sneaks, but we are loving
Palm Beach Times: That is very candid. If you could give men any advice what would it be? What is the biggest lie women tell?
Kelly: The biggest lie, your the best I have ever had. (Laughing) As far as giving advice I wouldn't even venture there because people are going to do as they wish any way
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest problem women have with men?
Kelly: They are not nearly as understanding as a woman would like them to be. But then some women have a problem with voicing their needs.
Palm Beach Times: Do women still hold men to a higher standard than themselves?
Kelly: I think that most do, hell I do
Palm Beach Times: So equality is just for opportunity for women not responsibility?
Kelly: No I think that we should be as responsible as the men
Palm Beach Times: Then why do you hold men to a higher standard?
Kelly: Because in my life I have always been viewed as weaker so why not play on that from a woman's point of view
Palm Beach Times: So some women are just playing a game with men because it is easier? Now that women are being perceived as equal and assuming that that will be the case will women still try to play on it, is that their nature?
Kelly: Exactly
Palm Beach Times: If men no longer treat women with kid gloves and do not buy into the game would that end it?
Kelly: I think that would be the beginning,it would be a big struggle initially but in the end it would pay off
Palm Beach Times: For women?
Kelly: For both
Palm Beach Times: Do you see that happening any time soon or at all?
Kelly: No
Palm Beach Times: Because...?
Kelly: Because men are too easily manipulated by women and we enjoy it
Palm Beach Times: Why are women so mad at men, or are they?
Kelly: Some are, for this question, I just dont know, Im not one of them
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Kelly: I would have to say your the most beautiful woman in the world
Palm Beach Times: Thank you
Kelly: My pleasure, I enjoyed it.
Ellen 38 Years old
Palm Beach Times: May I ask you some questions?
Ellen: OK
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Ellen: Size doesn't matter
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Ellen: I love you
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard?
Ellen: I'm not sure we hold them to any standard
Palm Beach Times: The point of this article is to have women let their guard down, to that end can you shed any more light on this for us?
Ellen: Honestly, ... we are in a strange time with a lot of gray areas. Men are supposed to be able to be softer, women more independent. In the end it all boils down to the fact that we hide behind a facade. No one wants to be seen as vulnerable and we are all afraid of being hurt
Palm Beach Times: Why are women so angry at men or are they?
Ellen: I can't speak for everyone, but I'm no longer angry with men. I'm just beginning to understand them
Palm Beach Times: What have you learned?
Ellen: That we speak different languages, and that we need to take the time to understand each other. When it comes to attraction, I'm not sure either sex really knows the whys and wherefores
Palm Beach Times: What is that men most need to know about women?
Ellen: That when we come to them with a problem, we need to talk to them about it, but we really don't want them to "fix it."
Palm Beach Times: Why does it upset women when men try to help?
Ellen: Men don't realize that we aren't looking for help, we need to talk about things so we can find our own solutions.
Palm Beach Times: So men should just listen?
Ellen: I've found that when I need to take something to a man for his help, get the help and let him know I appreciate it, he really likes that. More women should let men know they are appreciated. We just don't realize that men think differently and the "talk out" stuff would be better discussed with a female friend. Men and women solve things really differently.
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Ellen: You're welcome
Nicole 26 Years old
Palm Beach Times: May I ask you some questions?
Nicole: Why, for what?
Palm Beach Times: An article in a newspaper
Nicole: I'm a reporter myself so I tend to ask a lot of questions. Tell me what the question is, and ill see if I'll answer it ... umm ... would I have to give my full name?
Palm Beach Times: No, just be honest with the answers
Nicole: OK I can do that as long as they don't get too personal
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Nicole: "Nothing's Wrong"
Palm Beach Times: Why don't they just tell men what is bothering them?
Nicole: I'm not quite sure, maybe to get them to ask more and to get more interest? Ive never really understood it myself, I just think that its probably a very common lie
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Nicole: Oh geez ... hmmm .... hard one ... umm coming from experience its when they keep saying that its ok when you're around all the time to make you feel better, when they really need some space and don't like to be smothered. I don't know, this is very biased to current issues in my life so who knows, or wait I have a better one, "I don't need anybody to help me"
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard?
Nicole: Women have a tendency to expect more, does that answer your question?
Palm Beach Times: Yes, what Im curious about is why women seem to have so much difficulty acknowledging that?
Nicole: Yeah my boyfriend asks me the same question, um ... Do you think that they are reluctant to admit it?
Palm Beach Times: Yes
Nicole: Ive always been pretty open, but I guess a lot of girls play mind games
Palm Beach Times: Why are so many women angry at men or are they?
Nicole: I don't think they are, it depends who you talk to though. All my best friends are guys and I have a great boyfriend so I think guys are great (Big smile) but that's just me. Ive always been closer to guys than girls
Palm Beach Times: What is it that men most need to know about women today?
Nicole: Ummm, just to know that they think differently than men and to not always try to instill their way of thinking on to them. For example guys may not need to "talk" or may not need to be told I love you" all the time. But just because they don't need it doesn't mean that a woman doesn't. I am not saying to change, but just to be sensitive to the different needs of women, but in the same respect, women definitely need to do the same for men but thats not just today that's timeless
Palm Beach Times: What is it that women really do not want men to know?
Nicole: Their weaknesses, but nobody wants people to know that about them
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Nicole: So howd I do?
Palm Beach Times: It is not a pass fail test, I appreciate your answering, it was a pleasure
Nicole: My pleasure
Lisa 24 Years old
Palm Beach Times: I'm writing an article for a newspaper, Can I ask you some questions?
Lisa: Sure
Palm Beach Times: What is it men most need to know about women?
Lisa: We are different then them, we have different stimulus
Palm Beach Times: Can you give some examples?
Lisa: We aren't as visual, it's more about feelings to us, guys just have to see something and they are ready
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Lisa: Can't answer that, I don't lie
Palm Beach Times: Ever?
Lisa: I try not to, can't think of the last time I did
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard?
Lisa: I don't
Palm Beach Times: Taking the devils advocate role, lets say you were on ship and it was sinking and a man took the last seat and left you, later after you both survived would you think less of him?
Lisa: Probably, but wouldn't anyone think less of someone who took last seat and left them to die?
Palm Beach Times: Someone has to have the seat. Would you gladly support a man financially?
Lisa: Depends on the situation
Palm Beach Times: No situation, just as way of living
Lisa: No
Palm Beach Times: Why?
Lisa: I believe a relationship has to be equal, if he isn't at least trying to make a living and has no valid reason for not, I wouldn't be with him. I wouldn't support a dead beat
Palm Beach Times: What if he was taking care of the children all day?
Lisa: Isn't that a situation?
Palm Beach Times: Not extenuating, normal day to day affairs
Lisa: But still, it's a life choice, we have kids, I have a job that can support us, we decide that he can stay home with kids, not like he's not working just cause he doesn't want to
Palm Beach Times: So you would support him then?
Lisa: Yes
Palm Beach Times: If a man confides in you that he would prefer you take the lead would that bother you?
Lisa: I don't understand the question?
Palm Beach Times: He tells you the buck stops with you, not him when push comes to shove.
Lisa: He probably wouldn't be my type, but it wouldn't bother me. I don't hold men to a higher standard, but I do pick guys who are confident and secure in there lives. I need the strength and stability that they provide. It doesn't bother me that a guy isn't like that, but I wouldn't be attracted to him. I think we look for significant others that fill in the gaps of our lives
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Lisa: Sex isn't all I want and that we will support a guy (smiling)
Palm Beach Times: What makes a man a good lover?
Lisa: One who takes his time and is concerned with what I'm feeling
Palm Beach Times: What do women really want?
Lisa: A trusting, happy and fun relationship
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Lisa: No problem
Cindy 29 Years old
Palm Beach Times: I am conducting interviews for an article in a newspaper, may I ask you some questions?
Cindy: Who are you with?
Palm Beach Times: The Palm Beach Times Review
Cindy: Ill try
Palm Beach Times: What is it that men most need to know about women?
Cindy: A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she's in hot water
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Cindy: That was great baby (Big Smile) I guess it would have to be the way a woman allows a man to think that he is the king
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Cindy: I swear I wasn't looking at her.
Are you have going to tell me something about yourself
Palm Beach Times: Do women open up more to women than to men?
Cindy: Men don't want to hear women cry, they don't know what to say to us. It seems as if they are being insensitive. So sometimes yes
Palm Beach Times: Is it that women are concerned that men will perceive them as weak if they tell men their fears?
Cindy: Maybe, yes probably, that and men do the same thing they don't open up to us. What is the title of your article
Palm Beach Times: What men should know about women?
Cindy: May I ask you a question?
Palm Beach Times: Yes
Cindy: Have you not ever felt weak when expressing your most treasured thought with a woman, afraid of how she might perceive you?
Palm Beach Times: Weak, no I have wondered if it would be in my best interest to tell her.
Cindy: I will have to agree with you on one thing, most of my best friends are male. I don't trust women completely. I don't feel like I am in a competition when I talk with men
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard than women?
Cindy: Explain the question?
Palm Beach Times: Women always say they like sensitive men, but if a man is to sensitive women say they feel like they are relating to another women. They miss the strength of purpose.
Cindy: Sensitive to a point, no one wants someone who can't handle it on his own. Sometimes a woman wants a strong shoulder to lean on
Palm Beach Times: Seems like women hold men to a higher standard, correct me if I am wrong
Cindy: You aren't completely wrong, we are very demanding. A woman wants a man that she has dreamed about. Someone that isn't real. I don't think that there is anything wrong with a dream only when you turn down reality.
Palm Beach Times: What makes a man a good lover?
Cindy: The way he holds the woman afterward
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Cindy: You're welcome. I hope it
helped a little
Palm Beach Times: It did, thank you
Rachel 24 Years old
Palm Beach Times: May I ask you some questions?
Rachel: Ask
Palm Beach Times: What is it that men most need to know about women?
Rachel: That all we want is to be loved
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Rachel: That we think we look good, I think we are all insecure about are looks
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell women?
Rachel: That they love us
Palm Beach Times: Do women feel more comfortable opening up to other women as opposed to men?
Rachel: No I think, well in my case, I relate to men better. I can open up to them easier. Women just judge each other
Palm Beach Times: Can you explain ...?
Rachel: Well I have more guy friends than girl friends they don't judge me or talk behind my back
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest game women play with or on men?
Rachel: The cat and mouse game
Palm Beach Times: What does a woman get out of that game?
Rachel: Usually nothing in the end we just like to keep em guessing
Palm Beach Times: Because?
Rachel: Don't know just instinct I guess
Palm Beach Times: You seem to be the type that would walk all over a weak man is that true?
Rachel: Sometimes, I don't want a weak man. I want someone who can stand up for himself
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard than women?
Rachel: What do you mean a higher standard, in what way?
Palm Beach Times: Women never seem to understand this question. Do they expect men to be more in control of their lives than women?
Rachel: I expect a man to know what he wants and how to get it. I also expect him to have somewhat of an idea as to were he will be in his life financially in 10 years. I don't think men expect that from women because they are expected to take care of a woman
Palm Beach Times: Do some women still want a man to take care of them?
Rachel: Well I can't speak for all women, but when I was growing up I knew I wanted to prove to myself that I could make it on my own before I settled down with someone. I was on my own at 19 and now I'm 24 so I think I have proved I can handle taking care of my self. I know I am ready to settle down now, so yes in a way I do expect more out of a man
Palm Beach Times: What do women really want?
Rachel: I can only give you my opinion I cannot answer for all women. What I want is a stable relationship. To know that the man I am with really loves me and not for what I look like or what I do, but for who I am. To know that no matter what he will always be there for me.
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
Nell 31 Years old
Palm Beach Times: May I ask you some questions?
Nell: Sure
Palm Beach Times: What is that men most need to know about women?
Nell: That we love attention and to be listened to
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie women tell men?
Nell: I know a lot of women that will say they were satisfied when they werent
Palm Beach Times: What is the biggest lie men tell woman?
Nell: When they first met them they may lie about their occupation to impress them
Palm Beach Times: Do women hold men to a higher standard?
Nell: Sometimes we do because theyre supposed to be stronger and to be able to take care of you financially
Palm Beach Times: Why, Is that not a double standard?
Nell: Kind of, but a woman still wants a man with a good Job and being strong is a plus
Palm Beach Times: Why do most women deny that they expect more of men?
Nell: Maybe because they dont want to look weak, and for so long women were denied equal rights, so they put on a good face for this day and age.
Palm Beach Times: What makes a man a good lover?
Nell: If he is there for you and makes you feel great and is not concerned just with himself
Palm Beach Times: Thank you very much
